About the Project
Abhimaan is a documentary trailer that was part of a documentary pitch assignment assigned by Samarth Mahajan for a college course.
Abhimaan is a very personal project, created by putting together a 58 minute long voice call with my father into a 3 minute long video. It is a gist of the whole conversation where I came out to my father.

The Making
This trailer is backed by Cherathukal, a beautiful song by Sushin Shyam from the film Kumbalangi Nights, I chose to put this song in the background of Abhimaan because of its lyrics, and a melody that is overwhelmingly sweet.
I shot most of it during a 3-day long Diwali break in a small NTPC Township in a remote town called Dibiyapur.
